Troy has been performing for 34 years and teaching for 25. After being on the road in cover bands in the Northeast for several years, he went on to earn an Associate Degree and then later a Bachelor Degree in music. He then moved to Colorado and performed in and around Denver, Boulder and the Rocky Mountains, eventually touring with a couple original bands before starting a family and moving back to Maine. He has performed in bands as a guitarist, drummer, bassist and vocalist. Being a multi-instrumentalist and having been on many sides of the rhythm section, Troy offers a unique perspective on the foundation of rhythm and harmony. He has experience in many genres of music from classic rock to alternative, funk, rock, blues, modern country and more from the 60's to 2000's. Available areas of study include: note and tab reading, rhythm and counting studies, scales, modes, chord building, chord progressions, harmony, transcription, ear-training, learning by ear and song writing. Troy is very patient and laid-back and he has taught students from 4 to 80 years old. It's never too late to start enriching your life with music.
