PETER RICHARD

WOODWINDS - BRASS - MUSIC THEORY

Peter's primary instrument is saxophone but it's not uncommon to see him playing guitar, piano, drums, or other horns at a gig. He grew up in Maine, excelling at music from a young age and was soon earning 1st chair alto saxophone in District and Maine All-State Bands. In high school Peter participated in band, chorus, select choir, jazz band, pep band, and marching band among others. He began playing professionally in high school and has continued to do so for over 20 years. After high school, Peter earned a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where he studied song writing with an emphasis in performance. He continues to play music professionally in several groups including the popular band Skosh. Skosh performs both original and cover shows throughout New England performing at clubs, weddings, and corporate events. To see where they are playing or to inquire about a booking, you can visit them at http://www.facebook.com/skoshband. Also check out their original music on Spotify, iTunes, or Apple Music.
Peter enjoys teaching to all levels and ages, from beginners who need help learning to read for school band to adults who need help learning cover tunes for their gigging rock band.
